Local golfers finished out the GO Junior Series strong across all age groups, claiming both season-long titles as well as topping the daily leaderboards Monday in the Northern Championship at Owensboro Country Club.

Tour champions based on points accumulated throughout the summer series were Jesse Holton (Boys 16-18 Championship), Holly Holton (Girls 13-15 Championship), Braden Whistle (Boys 13-15 Championship), Mary Ann Lyons (Girls 13-15), Alexa Salamah (Girls 11-12) and Jax Malone (Boys 11-12).

Finishing the summer as tour runners-up were Kirsten Henderson (Girls 13-15 Championship), Hannah Robbins (Girls 11-12) and Ryann Kasey (Girls 9-10).

Though several of the tour champions were already locked in based on points standings leading into the event, competition was still fierce for those battling for medalist of the day in each division. Of the 11 division winners Monday, nine won by three strokes or less.

Alexa Salamah was the lone Owensboro tour champion who also won her division in Monday’s tournament. She shot 47 to win the Girls 11-12 division at OCC, wrapping up a strong summer full of individual wins.

Other locals winning their divisions Monday were Emma Payne (83, Girls 16-18 Championship), Emilee Clark (87, Girls 13-15 Championship), Conleigh Osborne (54, Girls 13-15), J.T. Payne (83, Boys 13-15 Championship) and Chris Salamah (74, Boys 16-18 Championship)
