Four local golf teams compete at Ben Hawes

Four local boys’ golf teams competed Monday at Ben Hawes, though Ohio County narrowly beat Daviess County to win the match.

Ohio County shot 152 and was led by a 4-under-par round of 31 by Tre Lewis. Daviess County (158) was second, followed by Owensboro Catholic (171), Owensboro (182) and Apollo (194).

The Panthers got scoring from Nick Johnson (38), Braden Whistle (39), Dawson Lamb (39) and Brady Huckleberry (42).

The Aces’ four top scorers were Jakob Wellman (39), Reece Higdon (41), JT Payne (41) and Sam Mitchell (50).

Owensboro’s low score came from Jack Lashbrook (38). Other scorers were Andrew Chancellor (46), James Rhineburger (49) and Lucas Lyons (49).

Apollo got scoring from Tanner Klee (45), Isaac Crabtree (47), Ethan Dych (48) and Nathan Payne (54).
