Love, Lashbrook individual winners; four local teams in action

Daviess County’s Daniel Love won his invitational outright Saturday, while Owensboro’s Jack Lashbrook earned first place after a playoff to finish first in a tournament in Hancock County.

Daviess County and Owensboro Catholic each played in the Union County Invitational, while Owensboro and Apollo each competed in the Hancock Bank/Subway Schoolboy Classic Golf Tournament.

The Panthers took first place behind Love’s low round of 70. Also scoring were Gabe Vincent (77), Nick Johnson (79) and Brady Huckleberry (79).

The Aces were led by a 75 from Reece Higdon, who finished fourth overall. Other scores for OCHS came from JT Payne (86), Noah Johnson (92) and Sam Mitchell (104).

Owensboro was led by a 77 from Lashbrook, who be Kentucky Country Day’s Carl Williams on the first hole of a playoff. Also scoring for the Red Devils were Andrew Chancellor (88), James Rhineburger (89) and Will Hume (98).

Apollo’s scores came from Isaac Crabtree (99), Tanner Klee (100), Nathan Payne (102) and Aiden Watson (114).
