Red Devils top Bowling Green in road match

The Owensboro boys’ soccer team fought back from an early deficit and pulled away in the second half for a 4-1 victory at Bowling Green on Monday.

The Purples (1-1-1) scored first, but the Red Devils (2-1) pulled even with a goal by Josh Head, with the assist coming from Andrew Saltsman. The match remained tied through halftime.

Saltsman put Owensboro on top early in the second period by scoring on a free kick from 45 yards out. A goal by Reis Dickinson stretched the lead to 3-1, and Head added his second goal on an assist from Hser Thaw.

Radley Worth had three saves in goal. Owensboro outshot Bowling Green 15-4.

Owensboro returns to action Thursday when they travel to Daviess County for a 7:30 p.m. 9th District game.
