This week’s Owensboro Times sports honors go to Apollo’s Geoffrey Johnson and Trinity’s Taylor Pedley.
Johnson, a senior running back for the Eagles, is the Football Player of the Week after earning the most votes in the weekly poll. Johnson had three receptions for 69 yards and a touchdown, adding seven tackles on defense.
Pedley, a sophomore volleyball player for the Lady Raiders, is the Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Pedley recorded 50 digs, 5 assists and 5 aces total in four matches.
Next week’s Athlete and Football Player of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m. Nominees will be based on names and stats submitted by coaches.
Note: Winners of the weekly honors will not be eligible for nomination again.
