SATURDAY’S GOLF ACTION:
• Wellman medalist, Aces 2nd at Muhlenberg; OHS takes 6th
• DCHS in action in KGCA state tournament


WELLMAN MEDALIST, ACES 2ND AT MUHLENBERG; OHS TAKES 6TH
Jakob Wellman shot an even-par 71 to claim individual honors at the Muhlenberg County Invitational, while teammate Reece Higdon placed third with a 75 to lead Owensboro Catholic to second place as a team.

The Aces shot 337 and were only beaten by host Muhlenberg County with a 320.

Also scoring for Catholic were Sam Mitchell (95) and Noah Johnson (96).

Owensboro finished sixth with a 348 and was led by Jack Lashbrook with an 80. Lucas Lyons shot 84, while James Rhineburger and Will Hume each posted a 92.


DCHS IN ACITON IN KGCA STATE TOURNAMENT
Daviess County finished with a team score of 313 and sit in 10th place after day one of two at the inaugural Vince Hamilton Memorial KGCA State Championship at the University Club of Kentucky.

Scoring for the Panthers came from Daniel Love (71), Chris Salamah (74), Braden Whistle (83) and Brady Huckleberry (85).
