Lady Panthers finish 4-1 in weekend tourney

The Daviess County volleyball team went 4-1 on Saturday in the Coyote Clash Tournament in Clarksville, Tenn., rattling off four wins before falling to Macon in tournament play.

The Lady Panthers beat Germantown, South Side and Rossview in pool play before topping West Creek in the first round of tournament play.

Leading DC on the day were Hannah Axley (52 assists, 25 digs, 11 aces), Kloee Phelps (87 digs, 14 kills, 8 aces), Ashton Johnson (32 kills, 29 digs, 4 aces) and Jasmine Beasley (12 digs, 12 kills, 5 aces, 4 blocks).

Other big contributors were Kendal Goetz (109 digs, 7 aces), Delaney Evans (52 digs, 6 assists, 3 kills), Ryann Keller (33 assists, 4 kills), Kinsley Phelps (21 kills, 6 digs, 4 blocks), Elizabeth Moore (33 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces) and Chea Bowers (38 digs).

Daviess County returns to action Tuesday when they host Owensboro in their 9th District opener.
