MONDAY’S VOLLEYBALL ACTION:
• Lady Devils snap losing streak with 2-0 win
• Lady Aces’ win streak ends against Castle
• Quick start not enough for Lady Raiders


LADY DEVILS SNAP LOSING STREAK WITH 2-0 WIN
Owensboro snapped a six-game losing skid by sweeping a match 2-0 (25-13, 25-11) against Frederick Fraize.

The Lady Devils (4-11) were led by Krystell Pappas (11 assists, 4 digs, 3 kills, 3 aces), and got other contributions from Lainey Hayden (6 kills, 2 aces, 2 blocks), Hannah Ashley (5 assists, 2 digs), Armanda Pappas (6 kills), Chase Mather (4 digs, 3 aces), Mykael Winstead (5 kills) and Mia Covington (3 assists).

Owensboro will play at Apollo in a 9th District matchup on Tuesday.


LADY ACES’ WIN STREAK ENDS AGAINST CASTLE
Owensboro Catholic won a tight first set, but they couldn’t keep up the rest of the way as Castle pulled away for a 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-13, 25-9) victory.

The Lady Aces (7-5) had won five in a row entering the home contest. They were led in the match by Cecilia Clemens (23 assists, 6 digs, 2 blocks) and Cassidy Towery (18 kills, 5 blocks, 4 digs).

Other leading contributors were Madeline Castlen (5 aces, 2 kills, 2 blocks), Cate Sights (5 kills, 2 blocks), Belle Wright (5 kills, 2 digs), Jayden Bickett (4 digs) and Allie Hamilton (2 kills, 2 digs).

Catholic will host Daviess County on Tuesday for a 9th District match.


QUICK START NOT ENOUGH FOR LADY RAIDERS
After winning the opening two sets, Trinity wasn’t able to close out the match, falling short in a 3-2 (13-25, 20-25, 25-20, 25-16, 15-7) loss at Ohio County.

The Lady Raiders (5-8) were led by Josie Aull (17 assists, 9 digs, 4 aces), Cassidy Morris (4 aces, 3 kills, 3 digs, 2 blocks), Morgan Kinsey (9 kills, 5 digs, 2 aces) and Taylor Pedley (14 digs, 2 aces).

Others helping out were Abby Payne (9 digs), Lexie Barnett (8 digs), Hannah Nash (8 kills), Josie Booker (6 digs), Jenna McDowell (4 kills) and Avery Barnett (2 aces, 2 assists).

Trinity is back in action Tuesday at McLean County.
