E-Gals go 5-0 to win weekend tournament

Apollo dominated their way to a tournament championship this weekend, dropping only one set as they went 5-0 to claim first place in the Toyota of Hopkinsville Western Kentucky Smack Down in Hopkinsville.

The E-Gals picked up wins Friday night against Todd County Central (25-10, 25-21) and Crittenden County (25-23, 25-10), then earned Saturday victories over Fort Campbell (25-12, 25-8), Christian County (25-7, 25-5) and Logan County (25-22, 17-25, 15-10).

Leading the effort for Apollo were Tallie Satterfield (80 assists, 19 digs, 6 aces, 4 kills), Hallie Wilson (41 digs, 5 aces), Whitley Chambers (34 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces), Natalie Ewing (27 kills, 6 blocks) and Camryn Kerwick (21 digs, 6 aces).

Other contributions came from Maddi Boswell (21 kills), Brylee Rhodes (13 kills, 6 blocks, 5 aces), Anslee Hopewell (11 digs, 9 aces), Abby Spong (14 digs), Valerie Gillim (12 digs) and Caroline Flake (8 aces).

The E-Gals moved to 21-11 on the season. They wrap up district play Tuesday against Daviess County and finish the regular season Thursday against Hopkinsville.
