TUESDAY’S VOLLEYBALL ACTION:
• Lady Aces top OHS, secure top seed
• E-Gals cruise to win at home


LADY ACES TOP OHS, SECURE TOP SEED
Owensboro Catholic locked up the top seed for the 9th District tournament with their 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-19) home sweep over Owensboro.

The Lady Aces (20-10, 5-1 9th District) were led by Cecilia Clemens (31 assists, 5 blocks, 3 kills, 3 aces), Cassidy Towery (10 digs, 8 kills, 2 aces) and Belle Wright (13 kills, 6 digs, 2 blocks).

Others helping the cause were Madeline Castlen (5 kills, 5 blocks), Cate Sights (9 kills, 2 blocks), Jenna Glenn (5 digs), Allie Hamilton (5 digs) and Clara Bach (3 assits).

The Lady Devils (12-20, 0-6) were led by Jersie Rhineburger (12 digs), Krystell Pappas (6 kills, 5 assists, 2 digs) and Kennedy Thompson (5 assists, 2 digs).

Also contributing were Lainey Hayden (3 blocks, 2 kills), Mykael Winstead (3 digs, 2 assists), Armanda Pappas (3 kills, 2 digs) and Audretta Tyler (5 digs).

Catholic is off until Oct. 17 when they host Henderson County in the regular season finale. Owensboro is back in action Monday when they travel to Ohio County.


E-GALS CRUISE TO WIN AT HOME
Apollo had little trouble getting by Hancock County for a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-7) victory at home.

The E-Gals (16-10) were led by Tallie Satterfield (22 assists, 7 digs, 5 aces, 4 blocks), Whitley Chambers (11 kills, 2 blocks), Brylee Rhodes (6 kills, 6 blocks), Natalie Ewing (8 kills, 2 blocks), Anslee Hopewell (5 digs, 4 aces) and Hallie Wilson (7 digs).

Apollo returns to action Thursday when they travel to University Heights.
