The Kentucky Wesleyan College women’s basketball team rolled to yet another dominant win Saturday, using a strong third quarter to blow past Missouri Baptist University 92-65 in their final game before Great Midwest Athletic Conference action begins.

The win keeps the Panthers’ record perfect at 7-0 and extends their home win streak to 21 games — their longest such stretch in program history.

Already leading 19-15, Wesleyan opened the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take their first double-digit lead of the night. Emma Johnson scored all 11 of her points in the second period as the Panthers took a 44-31 lead to the break.

Wesleyan pulled away in the third, outscoring Missouri Baptist 33-13 while shooting 11-of-14 from the field.

Tahlia Walton and Lily Grimes paced the Panthers with 14 points each. Keelie Lamb added 12 and Jordyn Barga chipped in 10.

Kaylee Clifford finished with a team-high six rebounds, while Grimes dished out six assists.

The Panthers scored 25 points off 26 turnovers and dominate the paint at 40-26. Wesleyan’s bench recorded 50 points compared to 23 by the Spartans.

Wesleyan opens G-MAC play this week, hosting Ohio Dominican on Thursday and Tiffin on Saturday.
