• E-Gals struggle on road in opener

MCKAY HELPS LADY ACES TOP CASTLE
Using a strong fourth quarter, Owensboro Catholic pulled away late to top Castle 57-49 on the road in their season opener. It was a back-and-forth contest all the way through, and the teams were tied at 31-all after three periods.

Hannah McKay led the way with a game-high 21 points and eight rebounds, also adding three assists. Catherine Head knocked down three 3-pointers and scored 13 points to go along with four assists.

Spencer Harvey chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and three steals. Isabella Henning added nine points, and Lily Moore had four.


E-GALS STRUGGLE ON ROAD IN OPENER
Henderson County jumped out to an early lead, and Apollo never recovered in a 71-41 loss on the road to start the season.

Zoe Floyd led the scoring effort for the E-Gals with 12 points, adding four rebounds. Kassidy Daugherty added nine points and five rebounds, while Addison Carter had eight points and four rebounds.

Amber Dunn scored four points to go along with four boards and three steals. Janaya Dogulas had five points, Shelbie Beatty had two, and Amaya Curry added one.


LADY DEVILS EDGE BY BOSSE
Owensboro used a steady attack to edge Evansville Bosse 54-49 on the road to kick off the season with a win.

A’Lyrica Hughes led the way with 18 points, while Lyric Lawrence added 15 and Nia Gonzo scored 10 for the Lady Devils. Tamia Smith (4), Katerina Hrabalikova (3) and Krystell Pappas (2) also contributed to the scoring.
