BOYS
ACES SPLIT PAIR OF TOURNEY GAMES
Owensboro Catholic (5-3) split their final two games in the Hebrews 12 Coffee Christmas Classic at Butler County. After a 54-50 loss against Murray, the Aces bounced back for a 77-55 victory over Hickman County.

Against Murray, Brian Griffith led Catholic’s offense with 20 points and Ji Webb added 14. Also scoring were Drew Hartz (6), Andrew Riney (5), Luke Scales (4) and Sam McFarland (1).

Against Hickman County, Griffith and Webb scored 18 points each to again lead the Aces. Others contributing to the win were McFarland (12), Hartz (10), Riney (8), Braden Mundy (7), Scales (2) and Logan Jones (2).


DC USES LATE PUSH TO SECURE WIN
After a tight contest through three quarters, Daviess County (5-5) used strong fourth period to earn a 63-53 victory over Hopkinsville in the Fuller Physical Therapy Holiday Classic at Webster County. The Panthers outscored the Tigers 20-12 over the final frame.

Joe Humphreys led DC with 16 points and Camron Johnson added 15, while Bo Stratton and Ryan Thomson finished with 10 each. Hunter Gibson (4), Koki Kato (4), Will Barron (2) and Cole Burch (2) also scored.


LATE LEAD SLIPS AWAY FROM OHS
Owensboro (5-3) couldn’t hold on to a late lead in a back-and-forth game, and Waggener came away with a 72-66 win in the Century Mortgage Derby City Jam at Fern Creek. The Red Devils led by six after the first quarter, trailed by one at the half and went back up by five heading into the final period.

Amari Wales (14), Jaiden Greathouse (12) and Isaac Humphrey (11) led the scoring for OHS. Also pitching in were Gavin Wimsatt (9), Kenyatta Carbon (8), Tucker Hagan (6), Reis Dickinson (4) and Matt Brown (2).


RAIDERS FALL JUST SHORT AT HOME
Trinity (3-6) came up just short in their home tournament, falling 65-59 to Crittenden County in the Dental Designs of Owensboro Christmas Classic. The Raiders trailed by four at the half but tied it at 43-all heading into the fourth quarter.

Kevin Foster hit six 3-pointers to finish with 18 points for the Raiders. Also scoring were Ethan Howard (13), Landon Huff (10), Landon Hall (10), Brenden Wathen (6) and Denver Dickens (2).


EAGLES STRUGGLE IN BIG LOSS
Apollo (0-8) is still searching for a win after an 81-53 loss to tournament host South Warren in the South Warren Shootout.

Ryan Ash led the Eagles with 18 points and seven rebounds. Also scoring were Dan St. Claire (9), Malik Wilson (8), Harrison Bowman (7), Cameron Frantz (5), Jaden Kelly (3), Adam Fitzgerald (2) and Jamen Kinison (1).



GIRLS
E-GALS BLOW OUT ADAIR COUNTY

Kassidy Daugherty scored 19 points and Zoe Floyd had 11 rebounds as Apollo (5-3) blew past Adair County 63-24 in the Russellville Food Bank Classic. Nine players scored in the win for the E-Gals, who led by 11 points after the first quarter and by 24 at the half.

Scorers included Shelbie Beatty (9), Amari Sanders (9), Kennedy Rowan (7), Brylee Rhodes (5), Amber Dunn (5), Janaya Douglas (4), Addison Carter (3) and Floyd (2).


OHIO COUNTY EDGES DC IN 2OT
Daviess County (6-2) mounted a 14-point comeback bid, but they fell 69-66 in double overtime to tournament host Ohio County in the Dairy Queen/Danny Annis Classic. The loss snaps a six-game win streak by the Lady Panthers.

DC’s Adylan Ayer led all scorers with 20 points. Also contributing for the Lady Panthers were Ella Payne (14), CJ Paige (11), Katie Mewes (8), Shea Mason (5), Brooklyn Daugherty (3), Madison Spurrier (3) and Druree Glenn (2).


LADY ACES FALL TO NOTRE DAME
Owensboro Catholic (6-2) struggled to find much offense, and their five-game win streak ended with a 49-38 loss to Notre Dame in the Queen of the Commonwealth tournament at Bullitt East.

Hannah McKay led the Lady Aces with 14 points and Spencer Harvey added 12. Also scoring were Isabella Henning (4), Ally Maggard (4), Caroline Reid (3) and Catherine Head (1).
