GIRLS
DC FALLS IN SEASON OPENER AT HOME
The Lady Panthers held a slim lead at the half, but the offense went cold down the stretch in a 60-47 loss to Breckinridge County at home in their first game of the season.

They were tied at 24-all at the halftime buzzer, but a technical foul was issued to Lady Tigers coach Chad Moorman before the teams left the court. Katie Mewes hit a pair of free throws for DC for a two-point lead heading into the locker room.

In the fourth quarter, the Lady Panthers only managed a 3-pointer by Adylan Ayer and two free throws from Ella Payne as the Lady Tigers pulled away.

Ayer led all scorers with 18 points, while Mewes added 14. Also scoring for DC were Brooklyn Daugherty (7), Payne (4), Druree Glenn (2) and CJ Paige (2).

OHIO COUNTY TOO MUCH FOR OHS
The Lady Devils (1-1) struggled to get much going offensively, falling 54-29 at Ohio County. Alryica Hughes scored a team-high 11 points.

Also scoring were Lyric Lawrence (7), Nia Gonzo (4), Brooklyn Williams (4), Tamia Smith (2) and Chandler Worth (1).

BOYS
TRINITY EDGED AGAIN ON ROAD
For the second game in a row, the Raiders (1-2) battled down to the wire but fell just short. They couldn’t get the go-ahead shot to fall in the final seconds, and ultimately lost 53-50 at Henderson County.

Ethan Howard and Landon Hall led the way for Trinity with 14 points each, and Kevin Foster added 11. Also scoring were Ben Goetz (3), Landon Huff (3), Will Edge (3) and Brenden Wathen (2).
