THURSDAY’S ACTION:
• Panthers use balanced attack to top Union County
• Raiders start strong, can’t hold on against Tigers


PANTHERS USE BALANCED ATTACK TO TOP UNION COUNTY
Daviess County (8-20) had four players finish in double figures as they used a steady attack to get past Union County 61-55 at home.

The Panthers led by two after the first period then outscored the Braves 23-17 to stretch the advantage to eight by halftime. Union County cut the deficit back to two by the end of the third but DC was able to hang on.

Logan Hillard paced the Panthers with 17 points, Ryan Thomson had 15, Bo Stratton scored 12 and Camron Johnson added 11. Will Barron, Cole Burch and Koki Kato scored two points each. Hillard had seven rebounds and three assists, while Thomson added five boards and four assists.


RAIDERS START STRONG, CAN’T HOLD ON AGAINST TIGERS
Trinity (9-21) came out strong, but they weren’t able to keep up in the second half of a 74-62 home loss to Breckinridge County. The Raiders led by one at the half but were outscored 19-10 in the third period, and they couldn’t make a comeback in the fourth.

Landon Huff led effort for Trinity with 22 points while Kevin Foster added 12, and they each hit four 3-pointers. Also scoring were Denver Dickens (10), Landon Hall (6), Elijah Boarman (4), Ethan Howard (4) and Will Edge (4).
