The first Owensboro Times sports honors this season go to Daviess County’s Bryce Parm and Owensboro’s Rylee Cox.

Parm, a senior running back for the Panthers, is the Football Player of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Parm ran for 191 yards on 21 carries and had three touchdowns in DC’s win over Ohio County.

Cox, a senior soccer player for the Lady Devils, is the Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Cox scored four goals in three matches for OHS as it went 2-1 during the first week of the season.

Next week’s Football and Athlete of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m.
