Brescia women fall to Taylor University

The Brescia Bearcats women’s basketball team dropped their fifth-straight game to start the season Tuesday when they fell 90-45 to Taylor University on the road.

Brescia fell behind 19-3 after the first quarter and couldn’t find enough offense to get back in the contest as Taylor cruised to victory.

Paige Vanzant led the Bearcats with 8 points and 3 assists while Angel Jeffries and Hailey Kendall added 7 points in the loss for Brescia.

Meredith Deckard led all scorers with 15 points on five 3-pointers. Claycee West (14 points, 3 assists, 4 rebounds) and Gretchen Moll (13 points, 7 rebounds) also helped in the victory for Taylor.

Brescia is back in action tonight as they take on Indiana Wesleyan in Marion (Ind.).
