KWC volleyball signs 7 in fall 2021 class

The Kentucky Wesleyan College volleyball team will have seven additions to the roster in the 2021-22 season. Wesleyan welcomes six signees from five different states as announced by Head Coach Eric Hagan.

“We are very excited about this class of young ladies,” Hagan said. “They are athletic players who excel in the classroom. Our goal throughout recruiting process is to add talented players who compete at high levels and we achieved that with this class.”

Katie Boland is a 5’10” setter from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. A four-year starter, Boland also served as Westminster Academy’s team captain for the past two seasons. Westminster reached the Regional semifinals in 2018 while in 2019, Boland earned All-County Team accolades.

Anslee Hopewell is a 5’7″ defensive specialist from Owensboro. A standout player for Apollo the last four seasons, she has earned team leadership awards as far back as 2016. In 2019 she totaled 80 aces and in 2020 accumulated the highest percentage of digs. An Honor Roll student, Hopewell has been an Academic All-State selection the past four years. She plans to study English Education.

Madelyn Hoskins is a 5’11” outside hitter from Bryant, Arkansas. Hoskins is a three-year letter winner for Bryant High School. She also led the team in kills. An honors student, Hoskins plans to study Physical Therapy.

Julia Kupper is a 5’7″ setter from Louisville. Kupper helped Sacred Heart to back-to-back District Championships in 2019 and 2020. She is an Academic All-State First Team selection as well. An Honor Roll student, Kupper is also a member of the National Honors Society and the Spanish National Honors Society. She plans to study Business.

Danielle Nelson is a 5’4″ defensive specialist from Elizabethtown. Nelson helped Central Hardin to a District Championships this past season. Previously, Central Hardin went as far as the KHSAA State Quarterfinals in 2017. In 2019 Nelson was an All-District Tournament Team Selection. An Honors student, Nelson is in the top two percent of her class and she plans to study Biology.

Braxton Shelton is a 5’9″ outside hitter from Terre Haute, Indiana.  Shelton was a Conference Indiana All-Conference and Purdue Gatorade Award recipient.  A three year Honor Student, she is a IHSVCA Academic All State honoree.  She plans to study Pre-Law and Criminology.

Diana Wesolosky is a 5’10” outside hitter from Midlothian, Virginia. Wesolosky was the Most Valuable Player for Midlothian High School last season. She also earned First Team All-Region honors in 2019. A National Honors Society member, Wesolosky plans to study Zoology.

The Panthers will open the 2020 season on January 22, 2021 at Findlay. The Panthers have an 11-game schedule in a COVID delayed season.
