Owensboro Catholic 90, Union County 59

The Owensboro Catholic Aces downed Union County Tuesday to start the season 7-0 for the second time in three years.

The Aces cruised by the Braves 90-59 behind 31 points from junior Brian Griffith.

Catholic didn’t waste much time getting a lead as they were up 26-6 after the opening quarter and led 47-20 at the break.

Parker Gray was the only other Catholic player in double figures as he finished with 12 points on four 3-pointers. The Aces hit 11 3-pointers in the victory.

Catholic is off until Tuesday when they take on Christian County in Hopkinsville.

Meade County 56, Trinity 40

The Trinity Raiders couldn’t build off of their dominate victory Saturday as they fell to Meade County on the road Tuesday.

The Green Wave took down Trinity 56-40 but two Raiders delivered solid performances in the loss.

Landon Huff finished with a game-high 20 points while Denver Dickens added 13 for the Raiders.

Only two other Trinity players scored in the loss.

The Raiders are back at it Friday as they head to Grayson County to take on the Cougars.

Grayson County 58, Daviess County 51

Despite three players in double figures, the Daviess County Lady Panthers were dealt their second loss in as many nights with the latest coming against Grayson County.

The Lady Cougars outscored DC 32-19 in the second half for the 58-51 victory over the Panthers.

Adylan Ayer led the Panthers with 20 points while Lily Hoagland and Brooklyn Daugherty each finished with 10 points.

Daviess County continues its road trip Friday when they take on Louisville Holy Cross. The Lady Panthers return home Monday to take on Whitesville Trinity.

Union County 44, Owensboro 31

The Owensboro Lady Devils hit the road Tuesday but were dealt a loss as the hands of the Union County Bravettes.

Union County won the game 44-31 in the lowest-scoring output for Owensboro this season.

Coach Jansen Locher said the Lady Devils’ shots weren’t falling, which led to some frustration during the game.

Lyric Lawrence finished with 12 points to lead Owensboro.

The Lady Devils continue their road trip Saturday as they take on Henderson County, which kickstarts their toughest stretch of the season.

Owensboro Catholic 33, Evansville North 32

Owensboro Catholic picked up its third win in a row to start the year as the Lady Aces edged Evansville North on the road Tuesday.

The Aces took down North 33-32 for its second win this week as they beat Ohio County on Monday.

Kinsley Goetz was the lone Catholic player in double digits as she finished with 13 points, including seven in the fourth quarter to help the Lady Aces get the win.

Catherine Head added eight points with pair of 3-pointers.

The Lady Aces play Thursday at Madisonville-North Hopkins. Catholic has two more away games after Madisonville before they host four-straight contests at home.
