Ohio County 69, Apollo 57
Apollo hosted Ohio County Tuesday night at Eagle Arena and despite a big night from senior Cameron Frantz, Apollo fell to the visiting Eagles.
Ohio County won the game 69-57 to put Apollo at 2-7 on the year.
Frantz finished with 23 points to lead AHS as he hit 5 3-pointers and was 2-of-2 from the charity stripe.
Landon Hamilton (13 points) and Harrison Bowman (10 points) also finished in double digits for Apollo.
AHS now starts a five-game road trip where they’ll first head to Owensboro Friday for a 9th District matchup with the Red Devils.
Owensboro 72, Breckinridge County 26
The Owensboro Red Devils bounced back in a big way Tuesday after Friday’s loss to Bosse as they cruised by Breckinridge County on the road.
Owensboro made short work of the Fighting Tigers, taking them down 72-26.
Amari Robinson-Wales (20 points) and Kenyata Carbon (18 points) combined to outscored Breck by themselves in the game.
Trey Hinton also finished in double figured for the Red Devils with 10 points.
Owensboro hosts Apollo Friday at OHS then has another 9th District game Sunday at home against Daviess County.
Owensboro Catholic 64, Christian County 48
Owensboro Catholic was handed its first loss of the season Saturday but rebounded with a dominant win over Christian County on the road Tuesday.
The Aces cruised by the Colonels and first-year head coach Toby Miles 64-48.
Junior guard Brian Griffith continued his offensive onslaught to start the year as he dropped a game-high 27 points in the victory.
Parker Gray (18 points) and Sam McFarland (15 points) also had big games in the Aces’ win.
Bubba Leavell led Christian County with 14 points.
Owensboro Catholic plays Saturday at University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville. The Aces beat the Blazers 80-67 on Jan 8.
