Daviess County 72, Cloverport 23
The Daviess County Panthers took down Cloverport Thursday to start the season 2-0 for the second-straight season.
DC cruised over the Aces 72-23 behind 13 points from Cole Burch.
The Panthers outscored Cloverport 18-1 in the first quarter as they never looked back in the contest. DC started the second half locked in defensively again as they held the Aces to two points in the frame.
DC shot 50% from the field for the second-straight game as they were also 50% from beyond the arc with 9 made 3-pointers in the victory.
Jack Payne, Joe Humphreys and Isaiah Tomes all finished with nine points as nine Panthers scored in the win.
Daviess County hits the court again tonight as they host Ohio County.

Daviess County 67, Cloverport 34
Daviess County’s Adylan Ayer finished with 17 points on her birthday to help lead the Lady Panthers to a 67-34 drumming of Cloverport Thursday.
Ayer was one of three DC players in double figures as Lily Hoagland (15 points) and Katie Mewes (13 points) also paced the Panthers.
DC held a narrow 15-11 lead after the first frame as the Panthers were up 35-23 at the break.
The Lady Panthers put some separation between them and the Aces in the third as they outscored Cloverport 27-6.
Hoagland scored 11 of her 15 points in the third quarter.
Brooklyn Daugherty (6 points), Ella Payne (5 points) and Madison Spurrier (5 points) also contributed in the scoring column.
Daviess County (1-0) hosts Trigg County on Saturday.
