The Brescia women’s basketball team is still searching for its first win of the year as they fell to Oakland City Saturday on the road.

Oakland City won the game 72-59 after holding the Bearcats to just four points in the first quarter.

Despite the poor first frame, Brescia battled and cut its halftime deficit to 31-27 but the Mighty Oaks outscored the Bearcats in the final two quarters to put the game away.

Courtney Peyton was the lone Bearcat in double digits as she had 10 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.

Oakland City’s Tabby Klem led all scorers with 21 points and 11 rebounds.

Brescia continues its road trip Tuesday at Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg.
