McLean County 74 Trinity 59

The Trinity Raiders dropped their second game in as many nights as they fell to McLean County in Calhoun.

The Raiders kept the deficit to single digits until the third when the Cougars made their move in the 74-59 victory.

Trinity was led by Landon Huff’s 17 points while Landon Smith and Gavin Howard each finished with 13 points.

McLean County’s Travis Phillips finished with a game-high 19 points while Jacob Hampton added 18. Jaxon Floyd also finished in double digits with 10 points.

Trinity (5-12) plays at home Tuesday against Henderson County.

Apollo 49, Union County 36

The Apollo E-gals bounced back Thursday after their loss to Owensboro Catholic by beating Union County on the road for their sixth win of the year.

Apollo trailed by four after the opener but battled back and continued to add to their lead as they grabbed the 49-36 victory.

The E-gals had a pair of seniors finished in double digits with Kassidy Daugherty and Zoe Floyd leading the way with 15 points each. Fellow senior Addison Carter added nine points on three triples while Amaya Curry chipped in eight points.

Floyd also added 16 rebounds in the win as she came into the game averaging 7.7 rebounds per game for the E-gals.

Apollo (6-4) plays at Daviess County Saturday afternoon.

Daviess County 65, University Heights Academy 17

The Daviess County Lady Panthers snapped their four-game losing streak Thursday when they went south and took down University Heights Academy in Hopkinsville.

DC scored their second-most points in a game this season as they cruised to the 65-17 win over the Lady Blazers.

Katie Mewes led all scorers with 18 points with her outscoring UHA by herself in the game.

Adylan Ayer also finished in double digits with 13 points.

The Lady Panthers host Apollo Saturday afternoon.
