Apollo 4, Union County 3

The Apollo Eagles grabbed a 4-3 win over Union County to start their season with a victory.

Nick Judd grabbed the win for the Eagles on the hill while Harrison Bowman, Nolan Millay and Aiden Wells each had RBIs in the victory.

Five Apollo players had hits in the game with Millay and Maxwell Holder grabbing doubles.

The Eagles play at home again today when they take on Breckinridge County.

Daviess County 6, Greenwood 5

After a 10 inning thriller on Monday, the Daviess County Panthers continued their solid start with a 6-5 victory over Greenwood at home.

The Gators jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first but with four runs in the third and two in the fourth, DC was in the driver’s seat despite Greenwood scoring multiple runs in the fifth and sixth.

Hunter Payne grabbed the win on the hill while Zach Head was the lone Panther with multiple hits. Decker Renfrow had two RBIs for DC while Cason Troutman, Garrett Small and Head each added one RBI.

Daviess County hits the field for the third time in three days when the Panthers host Grayson County today.

Henderson County 16, Owensboro 4 (6 innings)

Henderson County scored in every inning Tuesday as they took down Owensboro 16-4 in six innings.

The Colonels led 6-0 heading to the bottom of the third before the Red Devils got on the scoreboard.

Caden Ray, Connor Hallmark, Ethan Gibson, Tyler Hidenrite, Blake Kimbrell, Kendrick Williams and Evan Hampton all had hits for Owensboro while Gibson had two RBIs and Hidenrite added one RBI.

The Red Devils will try to bounce back Thursday when they take on Hancock County on the road.

Owensboro Catholic 13, South Spencer 1

After a close victory over Breckinridge County in Monday’s season opener, the Owensboro Catholic Aces went across the river and dominated South Spencer 13-1 on Tuesday.

Both teams scored in the first frame but then the Aces bats caught fire with eight runs in the second and four in the third as they kept South Spencer scoreless for the final four innings.

Luke Scales, Everett Munsey and Braden Mundy had multiple hits for Catholic as Mundy and Luke Evans delivered home runs in the victory.

Evans scored three times and had two RBIs while Munsey (4 RBIs) and Mundy (2 RBIs), and John Frey (2 RBIs) had big days at the plate.

Hayden Ward struck out 10 as he earned the victory for the Aces.

Catholic hits the road today as they take on Bowling Green.
