South Warren 18, Apollo 4 (5 innings)
The South Warren Lady Spartans took down Apollo Tuesday in five innings as South Warren cruised to the 18-4 win.
Hannah Snell hit a grand slam in the fourth inning to give the E-gals its four runs.
Apollo finished with five hits in the game but committed seven errors in the field.
Apollo will try to bounce back Thursday when it has a 9th District battle on the road with Owensboro.
Daviess County 14, Muhlenberg County 4
The Daviess County Lady Panthers bounced back Tuesday after their season-opening loss to South Warren when they cruised to the 14-4 victory over Muhlenberg County.
The Lady Mustangs led 4-0 heading to the bottom of the third before the DC bats woke up.
Seana Liebfried (4-4, HR, 2B, 4 RBIs, 2 runs) and Millie Roberts delivered home runs in the frame as it’s Roberts second home run in as many days.
Raylee Roby earned the win in the circle while Abby Newman (3-5, 2 2B, 3 RBIs, run), Jessie Daniels (2-3, 2 runs) and Katie Mewes (2-4, 2B, 2 RBIs, 2 runs) all had big days at the plate.
Daviess County hosts Butler County on Thursday.
Owensboro 10, Trinity 7
The Owensboro Lady Devils continued their strong offensive start to the season as they took down Trinity 10-7 Tuesday afternoon.
For the Lady Devils, Addison Hill (2-3, 3 runs), Sophie Moorman (2-4, 2 2B, RBI, 2 runs) and Kaylyn Sowders (3-3, 2B) had multiple hits with Sowders adding four RBIs.
Emmi Connor and Paige Hughes also had two runs for the Lady Devils.
Owensboro play Thursday at home against Apollo while Trinity plays April 5 against Edmonson County.
Mater Dei 3, Owensboro Catholic 0
The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces dropped their season opener Tuesday when they fell to Evansville Mater Dei at home.
Mater Dei won the low-scoring affair 3-0.
Catholic plays today at Greenwood.
