Apollo 7, South Spencer 3

The Apollo Eagles grabbed a big win Wednesday at AHS when South Spencer (Ind.) came across the river and fell to the host Eagles 7-3.

Apollo never trailed in the game as they were up 3-0 after two and 4-1 after three before added runs in the fifth and sixth to put the game away.

Tristin Crusenberry grabbed the win as he went five innings and struck out 10 while walking seven and giving up two earned runs on two hits.

Nolan Millay, Tanner Klee, Maxwell Holder (2B), Dan St. Clair and Noah Cook all had hits in the win while Millay and Holder finished with two RBIs. Dayton Brown scored twice in the victory.

Apollo is off until Friday when it takes on Owensboro Catholic on the road in their first 9th District showdown of the season.

Bowling Green 15, Daviess County 4 (5 innings)

The Daviess County Panthers couldn’t extend their winning streak to four games Wednesday as they fell to Bowling Green on the road.

The Purples scored in the opening frame and never looked back as the Panthers added two runs in the third and fifth innings.

Cason Troutman led DC as he went 2-2 with three RBIs and a run. Decker Renfrow went 1-2 and scored twice in the loss. Garrett Small (1-3) and Layton Huskisson (1-2, R) also had hits in the game.

The Panthers are off until Monday when they take on Muhlenberg County at DC.
