Castle 19, Apollo 1 (5 innings)
The Apollo E-gals fell behind early as Castle (Ind.) put up 10 runs in the first en route to a 19-1 victory at AHS Wednesday.
Morgan Frizzell led the E-gals as she went 2-2 with two doubles and scored the lone run for Apollo. Abbie Gore was 1-1 with an RBI.
Apollo plays today at home against Tecumseh (Ind.)
Owensboro Catholic 6, Evansville Memorial 5
After falling to Daviess County on Tuesday, the Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces bounced back with a victory over Evansville Memorial Wednesday at OCHS.
Memorial scored in the first three frames as the game was tied 4-4 after three until the Aces scored twice in the bottom of the fifth for their first lead of the game. Memorial added one in the top of the seventh but it wasn’t enough to topple Catholic.
Lexy Hatchett got the win in the circle after she pitched the final three innings. Hatchett struck out two and allowed one earned run on four hits.
Hannah Carter had the big bat for the Aces in the game as she went 2-3 with two home runs to go with four RBIs and two runs. Camille Conkright, Kailey Hamilton, Bailey Hamilton and Abbie Dukate also scored in the game while G Jennings added an RBI.
Catholic plays tonight against Hancock County at Edmonson County in the 3rd Region All “A” Classic Tournament championship.
