Edmonson County 10, Owensboro 5

The Owensboro Lady Devils couldn’t keep up with Edmonson County Monday as they fell 10-5 on the road.

Kaylyn Sowders (3-4, 3 RBIs, R), Sophie Moorman (3-3, 2 R), Morgan Turner (2-3) and Lauren Hughes (2-4, 2 RBIs) were the bulk for the offense for OHS while Hadley Hughes and Emmi Connor each scored runs in the game.

Owensboro hosts Owensboro Catholic tonight in their first 9th District game of the year.

Trinity 16, McLean County 3

The Trinity Lady Raiders grabbed a big win Monday over McLean County but it took the THS offense a few innings to get going.

Trinity led 2-0 after three but exploded for 14 runs in the final four innings, including eight in the top of the seventh to down the Lady Cougars 16-3.

Allie Barnett picked up the win in the circle as she went five innings and struck out three while allowing three earned runs on four hits. Lexy Edge threw the final two innings and earned the save.

Seven Lady Raiders had multiple hits in the game.

Macie Aguilar (3-5, RBI, 2 R), Madison McDaniel (2-5, 3 R), Katherine Hibbit (3-5, 2 RBI, 2 R), Georgia Howard (2-4, RBI), Abby Payne (2-5, RBI, R), Allie Graham (2-5, 2 RBIs, 2 R) and Sarah Payne (3-5, RBI, R) all had big games at the plate.

Cassidy Morris added two RBIs while Raylee Higdon scored twice.

Trinity has now won five in a row as they take on Ohio County today at home.
