The Owensboro Thoroughbreds followed their home-opener victory Friday with another high-octane offensive performance Sunday when they took down the Detroit Hustle at the Sportscenter.

Corey Wilford won the game Friday night with a 3-pointer and he continued his stellar play with 40 points in the Thoroughbreds 139-121 victory over the Hustle.

Detroit only had five players available for the game but that didn’t stop the Hustle from controlling most of the first two quarters and taking a 59-54 lead into the break.

After halftime, the Thoroughbreds turned up their defensive pressure and took advantage of the tired legs of the hustle to grab a lead and hold onto it for their third victory of the season.

Meshack Lufile turned it on in the second half for the Breds as he finished with 32 points, including 25 in the second half.

Owensboro hits the road Friday as they take on the Dayton Flight.
