Daviess County 4, Assumption 3

The Daviess County Lady Panthers grabbed a huge win to end the regular-season Saturday when they hit the road and beat Assumption 4-3 on Saturday.

Assumption led 3-2 heading to the top of the fifth before Jessie Daniels gave DC its final lead of the game when she hit a two-run home run to make it 4-3.

Daniels went 2-3 with 3 RBIs and a run in the win to lead the Lady Panthers. Five other Panthers had hits as Millie Roberts added an RBI and a run in the win. Abby Newman and Sophie Simone also scored.

Raylee Roby earned the win in the circle for DC going five innings and allowed two earned runs while striking out five. Greysee Whiteker threw the final two innings for the save.

Daviess County plays Owensboro at 3 p.m. Monday in the first round of the 9th District Softball Tournament at Owensboro Catholic.

Christian County 14, Owensboro Catholic 1

The Christian County Lady Colonels made a statement on the last day of the regular season as they came to Owensboro and took down Owensboro Catholic 14-1 in five innings.

Hannah Carter (1-2, RBI) led the Lady Aces while Hadley Phelps singled and score the lone run of the game for Catholic. Bailey Hamilton also singled in the loss.

Catholic plays at 7 p.m. Monday against Apollo in the first round of the 9th District Softball Tournament at OCHS.

Trinity 16, Webster County 8

Both offenses were firing in Trinity’s matchup with Webster County on Saturday but it was the Lady Raiders that struck last in the 16-8 decision.

Trinity trailed 8-5 heading into the fourth before they plated five runs in the frame then added six in the sixth for the dominant victory.

Allie Barnett got the win after she threw the final 3.1 innings and allowed just one earned run on three hits.

Several Lady Raiders had big games in the win, including Cassidy Morris (4-5, 2 2B, 5 RBI, R), Katherine Hibbitt (3-4, HR, 3B, 3 RBI, 4 R), Macie Aguilar (2-5, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Madison McDaniel (2-4, 2B, 3 R), Georgia Howard (2-3, R) and Raylee Higson (2-5, 2B, RBI, 2 R).

Trinity plays at 2 p.m. Monday against Edmonson County in the first round of the 12th District Softball Tournament in Whitesville.
