Owensboro Catholic 12, Apollo 3

The Owensboro Catholic Lady Aces put up six runs in the first two innings and cruised to the 12-3 district win over the Apollo E-gals Friday at AHS.

Apollo trailed 10-0 before they scored their three runs in the bottom of the fourth.

Addison Tignor led the Lady Aces as she went 3-3 with three RBIs, two runs and a double in the victory.

Brooke Hamilton grabbed the win in the circle for Catholic with her four strikeouts in five innings.

Morgan Frizzell (2-4, RBI, 2B), Emmie Bullington (2-4, 2B) and Mallory Velotta 2-3, 2 RBIs) led the E-gals at the plate.

Catholic plays Monday at home against South Spencer (Ind.) while Apollo plays today at Madisonville-North Hopkins.

Daviess County 10, Franklin-Simpson 0 (5 innings)
Daviess County 8, Allen County-Scottsville 0

The Daviess County Lady Panthers took their talents south Friday for the Best of the West in Bowling Green as they played two games Friday and have two more games today.

On Friday, DC beat Franklin-Simpson 10-0 in their opener then took down Allen County-Scottsville 8-0 in their second game.

The Lady Panthers led the Wildcats 1-0 heading to the fifth when the DC offense took over and played nine to end the game early.

Greysee Whiteker earned the win while striking out five and allowing two hits in five innings.

Abby Newman (2-4, RBI, R), Siena Leibfried (2-4), Millie Roberts (1-3, 2 RBI, R), Jessie Daniels (2-3, 3 RBIs, 2, 2B, HR), Whiteker (1-2, RBI, R), Kelsea Roby (2-3, 2 RBIs, 2 R) and Sophie Simone (2-3, RBI, 2 R, 3B) all had big days at the plate for the Lady Panthers.

DC plays Marshall County at 10 a.m. then take the field again against Green County in their tournament finale.

Trinity 5, Grayson County 4 (8 innings)

After trailing 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh to Grayson County, the Trinity Lady Raiders tied the game in the frame then went on to win the contest 5-4 in eight innings.

Trinity led GC 3-1 before the Lady Cougars added three runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead.

Madison McDaniel (2-5, R), Katherine Hibbitt (3-3, 2 R), Allie Graham (2-3) and Raylee Higdon (1-2, 2 R) all had solid days at the plate for the Lady Raiders.

Trinity plays Monday at Ohio County.
