Madisonville-North Hopkins 10, Apollo 4

The Apollo E-gals fell behind 3-0 after one and couldn’t catch up with Madisonville-North Hopkins Saturday as AHS fell to the Lady Maroons 10-4.

Apollo trailed 5-3 heading to the bottom of the sixth but the Maroons added five in the frame to put the game away.

Morgan Julian (1-3, R), K’Asia Palmer (2-3, RBI, R, HR), Delainee Hayden (2-4, RBI, R, 2B) and Mallory Velotta (1-3, RBI, R, HR) had big days with Palmer and Velotta hitting home runs in the game.

Apollo plays Monday at Hancock County.

Daviess County 6, Green County 0
Daviess County 10, Marshall County 5

The Daviess County Lady Panthers wrapped up the Best of the West in Bowling Green by taking down Green County (6-0) and Marshall County (10-5) to finish the weekend at 4-0.

Against Green County, Raylee Roby got the win with six strikeouts and just four hits allowed.

Abbie Newman (2-3, 2 R), Seana Leibfried (1-3, RBI), Mille ie Roberts (1-5, R), Jessie Daniels (2-2, 2 R, 2B), Hattie Newman (3-5, 3 RBIs, 2B), Greysee Whiteker (RBI, 2 R), Katie Mewes (2-4, RBI), Kinsey Vergason (1-2, RBI, 2B) and Sophie Simone (2-4, RBI) all had big games at the plate.

Against Marshall County, DC trailed 5-4 after the first but added two in the second and four in the seventh to put the game away.

Whiteker got the start but Roby came in in the fourth to finish the game and grab the win.

Abby Newman (1-1, RBI, 3 R, 2B), Leibfried (1-4, R), Roberts (2-4, 4 RBI, 2 R, 2 2B), Jessie Daniels (2-5, 2 RBIs) Hattie Newman (1-4, RBI, R, 2B), Whiteker (2-4, R), Kelsea Roby (3-3, R) and Simone (2-3, R) all contributed as each Lady Panther starter had a hit in the game.

The Panthers play Tuesday at home against Hancock County.

Owensboro 16, Nelson County 1 (5 innings)
LaRue County 3, Owensboro 2 (6 innings)

The Owensboro Lady Devils went on the road Saturday to LaRue County for the Abe Lincoln Classic where they went 1-1 and snapped a eight-game losing streak.

The Devils cruised by Nelson County 16-1 then fell to host LaRue 3-2.

Brooklyn Keller grabbed the win against Nelton County when she struck out two and allowed just one earned run.

Sophie Moorman led the Lady Devils as the plate as she was a double shy of the cycle. Moorman went 3-3 with a home run, a triple, three RBIs and three runs.

Addison Hill (2-2, 3 RBIs, 2 R), Kaylyn Sowders (1-1, 3 R, 2B), Catie Jewel (1-1, RBI, R), Paige Hughes (1-1, R), Lindsey Gibson (1-2, 3 RBIs, 3 R, 3B) and Morgan Turner (1-2, 2 RBIs) all had big days at the plate.

Against LaRue County,

Owensboro hosts Evansville Bosse on Monday.
