Ross Milburn and Jayden James tossed a combined no-hitter for the Owensboro Eastern 12u Cal Ripken All-Stars en route to a 10-0 victory over Crown Point in their first game of the Ohio Valley Regional Tournament.

Along with dominant pitching and picture perfect fielding from Eastern, an offensive outburst in the fourth had them reeling towards a big win.

Gunnar Hendricks supplied the first run of the inning via an RBI single, followed later by a homer from James, matching Ty Lillpop’s home run in the third.

Subsequent runs came from an RBI groundout by Ladainian November, a fielder’s choice by Alex Hood and an error forced by Logan Trone.

Lillpop and Lane Hundley led Owensboro in hitting, both registering multiple hits, with Lillpop going 3-3 on the day.

Lillpop and James were responsible for a large amount of the runs, both tallying three RBIs at the plate.

Meanwhile, Milburn was mowing Crown Point’s hitters down. He’d tossed two innings, striking out five of the six batters he faced while leaving them hitless.

James came in relief in the third inning, picking up where he left off. The defense did a good job of backing up their strong performances on the mound with no errors, helping James close the game out with a strikeout to earn the 10-0 win.

With one win under their belt, the 12u Owensboro Eastern Cal Ripken All-Stars will look to keep momentum going in their second game at 11 a.m against South Bend East Side.
