The 12u Owensboro Eastern Cal Ripken All-Stars are heading to the final showdown after defeating Northwestern Indiana 6-0.
Lane Hundley set the tempo for Owensboro on the mound. He threw five innings of shutout ball, allowing two hits while striking out 13.
It wasn’t until the fourth inning that Eastern cracked things open offensively, when Khilan Hamilton, Logan Trone and Ross Milburn all drove in runs, giving Owensboro a 3-0 lead.
Eastern tagged on three more later in the game, with one coming via the long ball from Jayden James.
That homer was one of six hits that Owensboro strung together throughout the day.
This was more than enough run support to hand them their third straight shutout victory at a score of 6-0.
Having not allowed a single run in the tournament, Owensboro will look to carry this momentum into the championship game when they take on Green County at 9 a.m.
