Owensboro Catholic nabbed its second win of the season on senior night, scoring on a game-winning penalty kick to earn the 4-3 victory over Hopkins County Central.

Junior Austin Martin tallied the Aces first three goals, looking to lead them to their second home win of the season.

On senior night of all games, senior Aaron Self was the one who sealed the deal when Owensboro Catholic was tied at 3-3.

After drawing a penalty kick, Self went one-on-one with the goalie and found the back of the net to give the Aces a 4-3 lead.

This was enough for Owensboro Catholic’s defense to hold strong, keeping Hopkins County Central off the board and claiming the big win in front of its home crowd.

Junior keeper Parker Jones made two saves in goal, while the Aces offense rattled off shots all game long.

They took 24 with nine on goal, controlling possession for the majority of the game. Meanwhile, Hopkins County Central took 10 shots and had five on goal.

The win moves Owensboro Catholic to 2-5-1 and they will look to win its third home game of the season against Owensboro at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
