Cross country recap (Sept. 4): OCHS, DCHS, OHS, THS

Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County cross country teams had successful days, while there were a plethora of individual competitors from the likes of Owensboro and Trinity at the Owensboro Invitational.

Boys cross country:

Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County both competed as a team, while Owensboro and Trinity had members compete individually.

Owensboro Catholic placed 8th with an average time of 21:19, while Daviess County finished 10th with an average time of 23:08.

Austin Marsh led the way for the Aces, claiming 39th place with a time of 20:10.03. 

Nolan Murphy followed one spot behind, finishing with a time of 20:18.39, while Braden Davis (49th), Cooper Danzer (61st) and Patrick Hauke (68th) rounded out the top-five for Owensboro Catholic.

Frank Newton led the way for Daviess County, placing 59th with a time of 22:04.89.

Narquise Sneed (64th), William Augustine (67th), Aidan Leachman (76) and Matthew Dunlay (88th) rounded out the top-five for the Panthers.

Owensboro’s Adrian Askin placed eighth individually, finishing with a time of 17:32.24.

Meanwhile, teammates Jacob Coleman and Beckett Gilmore finished 44th and 74th respectively.

Jacob Howard placed 20th with 19:05.41 to lead Trinity, while Christian Miller (80th), Dalton Millay (85th) Nicholas Ward (101st) also competed individually.

Girls cross country:

Owensboro Catholic was the lone team to score as a whole, while Owensboro and Trinity (Whitesville) had individual competitors.

The Lady Aces finished in seventh place on the day, posting an average time of 30:00.

Ainsley Sutter led the way for Owensboro Catholic, earning 31st place with a time of 25:40.09.

Peyton Reid (40th), Savannah Sprague (41st), Chloe Sprague (63rd) and Emma Haynes (65th) rounded out Owensboro Catholic’s top-five.

Owensboro’s Addison Edge grabbed 23rd, finishing with a time of 24:00.01. Meanwhile, teammates Tiara Campbell Newton and Keeli Hanley finished 36th and 53rd respectively.

Natalie Rhinerson competed individually for Trinity, placing 47th with a time of 29:42.54.
