Owensboro Catholic and Daviess County girls soccer had strong offensive performances on Tuesday, while Apollo and Owensboro couldn’t find the back of the net.

Owensboro Catholic vs. Owensboro

Owensboro Catholic girls soccer had a dominant showing offensively against Owensboro on Tuesday, grabbing a 9-0 road victory.

A myriad of Lady Aces got in on the action, with Junior Maddie Hayden leading the way with a hat trick.

Sophomore Jahaira Ward, junior Katie Riney, junior Corrie Milem, senior Ashton Logsdon, sophomore Annie Helwig and sophomore Mallary Bailey also scored a goal each on the night.

Ward and Logsdon both had two assists, while Riney, Hayden, Helwig, senior Emilee Cecil and Ginny Young all recorded an assist each.

The Lady Devils junior keeper Chandler Worth worked hard at net all day, making 25 saves despite the nine goals.

Owensboro Catholic has now shutout its opponent in five of their six district wins, while scoring 41 goals and only allowing one.

The Lady Aces move to 12-2 overall on the season and will look to extend its winning streak to three games when they host South Warren at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 21.

Daviess County vs. Apollo

The Lady Panthers were clicking on all cylinders against Apollo, grabbing a 5-0 victory on Tuesday.

Daviess County rattled off a total of 18 shots on the night, with four different players scoring on the day.

Senior Steeley Walker led the way with a brace, while junior Reagan Chinn, freshman Kate McCain, junior Brooke Schwartz all scored a goal each.

Freshman Lillian Coombs, Walker, sophomore Jesse Hardman and Chinn all recorded an assist each on the night.

Meanwhile, the E-gals struggled to control possession and earn solid looks offensively, only getting three shots on the night.

Junior Emma Patterson deterred all three shots on the night, recording three saves them secure the 5-0 shutout.

The Lady Panthers now to move to 5-9 overall and will look to grab two in a row when they take on Ohio County at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Apollo sits at 2-7 and will look to snap its two-game losing streak when they take on Daviess County again on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
