Owensboro girls soccer and Daviess County put on offensive showcases on Saturday, while Apollo was overpowered by the Lady Panthers.
Owensboro vs. Muhlenberg County
The Lady Devils offense was firing on all cylinders against Muhlenberg County, running away with an 8-0 victory.
Sophomore Sydney Lovett once again led the way on Saturday, netting a hat trick to go along with three assists in the game.
Overall it was a team effort offensively, as seniors Ella Bratcher, Evie Pierson, Natalie LaMar, JaNyiah Wimberly and sophomore Addyson Riney all scored a goal each in the match.
Junior keeper Chandler Worth made one save on the day marking back-to-back shutouts and her sixth on the season.
Back-to-back wins push Owensboro to 7-6 overall on the season, as they will get a couple days of rest before taking on McLean County on the road at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 23.
Daviess County vs. Apollo
The Lady Panthers bounce back from a blowout loss to Ohio County, using an offensive onslaught to rout the E-gals 10-0.
Apollo had no answer for junior Brooke Schwartz and freshman Kate McCain on the day, as both recorded a hat trick.
Four other Daviess County players got in on the action offensively, as senior Steeley Walker, junior Allison Boswell, sophomore Liz Burgan and sophomore Jessie Harwood all recorded a goal.
Harwood also dished out an assist, while junior Reagan Chinn also had one and senior Shelby Sandifer led the way with two.
The shutout is the Lady Panthers fourth on the year and moves them to 6-10 overall on the season.
They will look to carry their momentum into their road matchup with Sacred Heart at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, while Apollo will look to snap its three-game losing streak when they take on McLean County at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
