Owensboro Catholic girls soccer had its four-game winning streak snapped, falling to Castle 1-0 at home.

The first half remained scoreless despite valiant efforts offensively from both sides, but it didn’t take long for momentum to swing in the second half.

Castle found the back of the net five minutes into the second half despite nearly being offside and that was all they needed to walk away with a 1-0 win.

The Lady Aces were able to get eight shots on goal in the game and sophomore Abby Payne had 11 saves on the night, but they weren’t able to convert offensively and blank Castle.

The loss moves Owensboro Catholic 10-3 overall and they will look to bounce back when they take on McLean County at 4:30 p.m. Saturday.
