Lady Raiders stay hot against Breckinridge County

Trinity volleyball extended its winning streak to five games on Tuesday night, defeating Breckinridge County 3-1 (25-14, 25-19, 21-25, 26-24).

The Lady Raiders came out and set the tone for the match in the first set, winning by a double-digit score of 25-14 to take a 1-0 lead.

Trinity carried its momentum from the first set into the second set and earned a 25-19 win, but Breckinridge County wasn’t going down without a fight.

Looking to make a comeback win, the Lady Tigers made a statement and won the third set 25-21 with their backs against the wall.

Despite grabbing the win in the third set, this didn’t deter Trinity and they came away victorious in the fourth set 26-24 to win the match 3-1.

Sophomore Hannah Nash led the way in kills on the day with 18, while senior Cassidy Morris and sophomore Georgia Howard combined for 14 kills with eight and six in the game respectively.

Junior Josie Aull helped set a number of offensive opportunities for the Lady Raiders on the night, dishing out 34 assists.

Trinity covered the floor well on the night, with Howard and senior Taylor Pedley recording 14 digs each. Payne and Morris followed closely behind, finishing with nine and seven digs respectively.

The win for the Lady Raiders extends its winning streak to five games and moves them to 17-4 overall on the season. They will look to keep rolling when they host Butler County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
