Trinity volleyball extended its winning streak to six games Tuesday night, defeating Apollo in four sets (18-25, 25-22, 25-23, 25-15).

The E-gals came out and set the tone in the first set by winning 25-18, looking to carry momentum over from its win against Henderson County.

Trinity swiftly responded in a hard fought second set, ultimately coming out on top 25-22 in order to not let Apollo have all momentum in the match.

The Lady Raiders followed that up with another tough win over the E-gals in the third set at 25-23.

That win killed any energy Apollo had going forward to score, as Trinity won the final set 25-15 to come away with the 3-1 overall win.

It was a team effort in kills with sophomore Hannah Nash leading the way with 12 and senior Cassidy Morris and sophomore Georgia Howard following right behind with nine each.

Junior Josie Aull was responsible for setting up most of the Lady Raiders’ kills on the night, dishing out a whopping 39 assists. She paired that with nine digs and three aces.

Howard and senior Taylor Pedley led the way defensively, each recording 14 digs apiece, while senior Bailey Millay followed right behind with 11.

Senior Havanah John led Apollo in kills with 21, sophomore Ahalia Ramirez handed out 31 assists and senior Abby Spong recorded 16 digs.

Trinity now sits at 10-3 overall on the season and will look to extend its winning streak to seven games against McLean County at 8 a.m. on Saturday in the 3rd Region All A Classic. Meanwhile, Apollo falls to 5-6 on the season and will look to get back to .500 against Central Hardin at 8 p.m. on Friday in the Taylor County Throwdown.
