With the offense clicking on all cylinders throughout the game, the Red Devils defense in the first and third quarters led to a blowout 92-74 win over Heritage Hills on Saturday.

Looking to cut its deficit going into halftime, Heritage Hills used some marksmanship from beyond the arc to spark its offense and grabbed 24 points in the quarter.

Their offensive play was strong, but Owensboro remained right behind them in the second quarter and took a 42-40 lead going into the second half.

The third quarter was where the Red Devils blew things open, as Heritage Hills got its offense almost exclusively from Trent Sisley while struggling to stifle Owensboro’s offensive momentum.

Carbon (11) and senior Amari Wales (7) dominated in the third quarter, combining for 18 of the Red Devils 27 points. Holding Heritage Hills to 14 points, Owensboro had a commanding 69-54 lead going into the fourth.

The deadly guard duo for the Red Devils continued to lead the charge in the fourth, helping put a bow on a solid 92-74 road win over Heritage Hills.

Sisley led all scorers with 26 points on the night for Heritage Hills, while Carbon and Wales both tallied 25 points on the night for Owensboro.

Sophomore Chris Glover and junior Jalen Rogers both finished in double figures as well for the Red Devils, putting up at 17 and 10 respectively.

Back-to-back wins has Owensboro sitting at 4-1 on the season, as they will look to stay hot when they travel to take on Evansville Christian at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
