Trinity and Daviess County’s offenses struggle on Friday night, falling to Muhlenberg County and Meade County in its respective matchups.

Trinity vs. Muhlenberg County

With only one player scoring more than seven points on the night for Trinity, Muhlenberg County’s defense pushed them past the Lady Raiders, 53-38.

The Lady Mustangs came out of the gate and took control of the game, using a barrage of threes while stifling Trinity’s offense en route to a 16-5 lead

Muhlenberg County’s proficiency from deep continued to help charge its offense in the second quarter, helping them earn a 30-15 lead going into halftime.

The Lady Raiders offensive woes continued coming out of the locker room in the third quarter, as they were outscored 13-8 thanks to the Lady Mustangs ability to spread the ball well on offense.

Led by senior Cassidy Morris’ eight points in the quarter, Trinity was able to outscore Muhlenberg County 15-10 in the fourth.

However, the Lady Mustangs offensive consistency was too much for the Lady Raiders to overcome, falling 53-38.

Muhlenberg County had three players finish in double figures, while Morris led all scorers with 20 points to go along with 14 rebounds.

Now sitting at 1-1 on the season, Trinity has a quick turnaround for its third straight road game, as they take on Calloway County tomorrow at 4:30 p.m.

Daviess County vs. Meade County

Unable to stifle Meade County’s offense, the Lady Panthers suffered their first loss of the season at a score 55-42.

It was the Lady Waves that came out in the first quarter looking to set the tone for the game, using three-point shooting to spark their offense. They hit four in the quarter, helping them earn an 18-9 lead going into the second quarter.

Daviess County was able to limit Meade County to seven points in the second quarter, but its own offensive struggles continued as well. With freshman Zoey Beehn and junior Adylan Ayer combining for all seven of their points in the quarter, the Lady Panthers went into the second half trailing 25-16.

Daviess County was able to spread the ball around more in the third quarter, but were outscored 13-10 in the quarter as freshman Peyton Bradley scored seven of the Lady Waves’ 13. This left the Lady Panthers trailing 38-26 going into the fourth.

Daviess County was able to score 16 in the fourth, working its way to the line in order to try and mount a comeback. But Bradley put together another strong quarter, scoring nine of Meade County’s 17 en route to a 55-42 victory.

Bradley led all scorers with 23 points as the only player in double figures for the Lady Waves, while Beehn finished with 13 for the Lady Panthers.

Daviess County wasn’t able to connect from deep in the game, while Meade County hit eight from beyond the arc on the night.

The Lady Panthers now sit at 1-1 and have a quick turnaround, as they will hit the road to take on Pulaski County at 1:45 p.m. tomorrow in the Lady Mustang Classic.
