After a strong first quarter, Trinity’s (Whitesville) offense went stagnant, leading to a 56-31 loss against Breckinridge County.

The Lady Raiders grabbed 16 points in the first quarter, with senior forward Cassidy Morris scoring 13. Limiting the Lady Tigers on the defensive end, Trinity went into the second quarter owning a 16-7 lead.

However, the Lady Raiders didn’t have the same offensive success in the second quarter, as Breckinridge County held them to just four points. Despite these struggles they were able to limit the Lady Tigers to 10 points and went into halftime holding a 20-17 lead.

Trinity’s offensive struggles continued in the third quarter, as they were only able to score eight points. Meanwhile, senior Isabel Grimes scored eight of Breckinridge County’s 20 points in the quarter, as they went into the fourth with a 40-25 lead.

The Lady Tigers made a statement in the fourth quarter to secure the win, outscoring the Lady Raiders to 20-3 en route to a 56-31 win.

Grimes led Breckinridge County with 18 points, while senior Sydney Tucker followed closely behind with 13 points.

Morris was the only Lady Raider to score more than five points in the game, finishing by leading all scorers with 21 points on the night.

After winning its season opener, Trinity is riding a three-game losing streak. They will look to bounce back when they return home to take on Butler County at 6 p.m. on Friday.
