A dominant offensive display in the first half was more than enough for the Lady Aces to kick off the 3rd Region All A Classic with a win on Monday, defeating Trinity (Whitesville) 64-32.

Owensboro Catholic came out and set the tone right away in the first quarter, jumping out to a 20-8 lead going into the second.

Down double-digits the Lady Raiders needed to have a strong second quarter to stay in the game, but an abysmal three points for Trinity was countered with an offensive outpouring from the Lady Aces to give them a 41-11 lead at halftime.

The Lady Raiders were able to slow down Owensboro Catholic’s offense in the second half, holding them to just 23 points across both quarters.

However, Trinity still struggled despite cracking double digits in both the third and fourth quarter and ultimately fell 64-32.

10 different Lady Aces scored in a team effort on Monday, as freshman Karmin Riley led the way with 13 points and senior Camille Conkright finished with 10 points.

With its winning streak now extended to six games, Owensboro Catholic will look to improve to 12-4 when they take on Edmonson County at 6 p.m. tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the Lady Raiders fall to 3-5 with the loss and will look to bounce back when they take on Todd County Central at 1 p.m. on Jan. 8.
