The Bombers offense couldn’t be stopped on Friday, as they short-gamed Carmi 11-1 in five innings in front of their home crowd.

Owensboro had plenty of offense to come by with eight hits on the day, but took advantage of a plethora of Carmi blunders. Carmi had seven errors in the game to the Bombers’ two, making just two of Owensboro’s runs earned.

Brock Brubaker led the way for the Bombers offensively, serving as the only player with more than one RBI with three on the day to go with his 3-3 day at the plate. Cayden Crabtree, Easton Blandford, Aiden Wells and Josh Mayes all chipped in an RBI as well.

Davey Hiner took care of business in his starting nod on the bump, tossing 4 ⅔ innings while allowing one unearned run on four hits, allowing two walks and striking out nine. Charles Schneider got the other lone out of the game, striking out the final batter of the evening to secure the 11-1 win.

Owensboro gets right back to action Saturday morning, as they will hit the road to take on Lexington at 10 a.m. and look to improve to 12-6 overall.
