Girls Golf recap (Aug. 23, 24): OHS, OCHS, DCHS, AHS

Local girls golf teams competed in a 9-hole competition at Ben Hawes Golf Course on Tuesday, while Owensboro had a strong day individually against Grayson County on Wednesday.

It was Daviess County who came on top on Tuesday, finishing first amongst all of the local schools in the 9-hole competition in town.

Claire Reynolds led the way for the Lady Panthers, grabbing first overall with a 39. AnnaLee Yager and Baylie Billingsley finished second and third on the team with a score of 46, while Kate Mason shot a 57 and Cecily Holder shot a 66 to give them an overall score of 188.

The Lady Aces grabbed third overall with a score of 205, with Conleigh Osborne leading the way with an overall score of 46. Hannah Robbins, RC Porter and Chloe Calitri all tied with scores of 43, while Addie-Belle Rutman rounded out their top-five with a 65.

Owensboro competed individually, with Ellie Watson shooting a 54 and Ryann Kasey shooting a 61. Apollo did as well, with MaryAnn Lyons serving as its only competitor with an overall score of 45.

Lafayette Golf Club (Aug. 24, OHS vs. Grayson County)

Owensboro girls golf had a strong day on Wednesday, defeating Grayson County at the Lafayette Golf Club behind the play of Ellie Watson and Ryann Kasey.

Watson led the way for the Lady Devils, shooting a 46 while Kasey finished second overall with a 47. Owensboro had better scores than all four Grayson County golfers, as they shot a 54, 57, 58 and 61.
