With both teams undefeated in district play going into Tuesday only one remained unbeaten and that was Owensboro Catholic, defeating the Lady Panthers in a 4-2 shootout.
Senior Maddie Hayden led the way for the Lady Aces with two goals, it was junior Mallary Bailey who also nailed one and chipped in a team-leading pair of assists. Junior Annie Helwig had the fourth goal for Owensboro Catholic, while sophomore Carmen Brauer and junior Jahaira Ward had an assist each.
The win moved the Lady Aces to 3-1 overall and 2-0 in district play, as they will now take a day off before traveling to take on Evansville Mater Dei at 6 p.m. on Thursday. Daviess County on the other hand falls to 3-1 and 1-1 in district play before competing in the Smoky Mountain Cup this weekend.
