Boys soccer recap (Sept. 20): AHS, DCHS

Daviess County and Apollo boys soccer both grabbed win in its respective matchups on Tuesday, clicking offensively to overpower its opponents.

Apollo vs Hopkins County Central

The Eagles grabbed their second straight win on Tuesday, firing on all cylinders in a 3-1 win over Hopkins County Central on senior night.

Senior Dah Hai led the charge offensively, recording a hat trick while senior Hsa Than grabbed a goal and an assist. Seniors Hunter Dickerson and Eh Wah both had an assist each, while sophomore Omid Hanafi grabbed the other assist.

Meanwhile, it was junior Kaden Phillips who made four saves in net, helping Apollo grab the 3-1 win. The Eagles improved to 7-10 overall with the win, now turning their attention to a game with South Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Daviess County vs Henderson County

The Panthers snapped their two-game losing streak on Tuesday, putting on a show offensively en route to a 6-2 road win over Henderson County.

Junior Sam Glover led the way offensively with a pair of goals, senior Carter Hoak, senior Dax Sandifer, sophomore Cameron Bell and senior Ahmed Abdullahi all had a goal each. Abdullahi also dished out a pair of assists, while Bell senior Sean Higgs also had an assist each.

Daviess County now sits at 12-3-1 overall with the win, as they will now take a few days off before returning home to host Warren Central at 7 p.m.
