Apollo’s very own Hunter Roberson has taken the next step in his athletic and academic career, as he has signed to join the archery program at Lindsey Wilson.

“I am very excited to attend Lindsey Wilson,” Roberson said. “It is a really big step in pursuing my childhood dreams.”

Roberson said that Lindsey Wilson made the recruiting process very easy, as they continually made sure to check in and see how he was doing and treated him with respect. He feels like he is joining a program that is growing in numbers and is hoping to be a part of some success to follow at a home away from home.

“It is almost just like home, a small college town and everyone seems to treat you like family,” Roberson said. “And the financial package that they offered me was very enticing.”

Along with competing in archery, Roberson is interested in the sustainability and energy applications which focuses on the conservation side of biology. Given that this specific field is more hands on, it is something Roberson wanted to jump at.

All in all, Roberson is ready to move on to the collegiate level and grow in his game, but he admits that he will miss his team and is thankful for the people that helped him grow into the archer that he is today.

“I am going to miss a lot about my team,” Roberson said. “My coaches and teammates have always pushed me to succeed in whatever I’m doing whether it’s my academics, work, or in competition. We really are like a family and everyone is treated like so. As for my school, I will miss the people that I have grown up with and learned with.”
